πŸ” THE CANADIANIST FOOD FIGHT: CALLING ALL MUSIC CREATORS πŸ•

We put out a call for food-themed songs and the response gave us an idea. Let’s make a show out of this.

The Canadianist Radio Network is putting together a one-hour special celebrating independent music creators and the wonderfully strange, funny, clever and occasionally serious things that happen when you tell musicians to write about food.

So here’s the challenge:

Send us your best food song.

It can be funny. It can be serious. It can be an ode to the greatest sandwich you’ve ever eaten. Fall hopelessly in love with a cheeseburger. Write a torch song about poutine. Defend pineapple on pizza at considerable risk to your reputation. We don’t care.

Creativity is the key.

This is not limited to Suno. We don’t care what tools you used to make it. AI, traditional recording, a combination of both, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that it’s an original, properly produced, finished song that’s ready to be played on the radio.

We’ll select enough of our favourites to fill a one-hour special on The Canadianist Radio Network.

Then we get out of the way.

The audience chooses the winners.

Every song in the show will be numbered. After listening, the audience will be invited to vote for their favourite at The Canadianist.

And there’s more than bragging rights involved.

The Top 3 artists, as chosen by our listeners, will each receive a full interview feature on The Canadianist. We want to meet the people behind the music, hear their stories, talk about how they create, why they create, and introduce their other work to our audience.

This is about having some fun, discovering some great music and celebrating the people making it.

We have absolutely no idea what we’re going to receive.

That’s rather the point.

The Canadianist Food Fight.

We pick the finalists.
You pick the winners.

Send your finished MP3 to submissions@thecanadianist.news and include your artist name, song title and a little information about yourself.

Let’s hear what you’ve got.
